Orchard Toys Jigsaws: Bright, Chunky Puzzles for Little Hands

By The Yorkshire Jigsaw Store

Every puzzler starts somewhere, and for many little ones that start is an Orchard Toys puzzle. Bright, chunky and full of friendly characters, they're designed to make a child's first puzzles fun, and they're a brand we're always happy to recommend to parents and grandparents.

Designed in Norfolk

Orchard Toys is a family business that began in 1971 and is based in Wymondham, Norfolk. Every one of their games and puzzles is designed, illustrated and developed in-house in the UK, with a real focus on helping children learn through play.

Their jigsaws cover every stage, from first puzzles and chunky wooden designs for toddlers to larger floor puzzles and more detailed scenes for older children. The bold, cheerful artwork makes them a joy for little ones to build.

All in stock and ready to send from Yorkshire.

For the youngest puzzlers, the Woodland Chunky Wooden Puzzle and First Dino Friends, with two puzzles in a box, are a perfect introduction. Big Fire Engine is a 20-piece puzzle that's great for little vehicle fans, and Fairytale Castle is a 75-piece step up for growing confidence.

Choosing the Right Puzzle for a Child

For toddlers, look for chunky pieces and puzzles with just a few pieces. As children grow, move on to 20 to 50-piece puzzles, then 75 pieces and beyond. Always check the age guidance on each puzzle.

Puzzling together is a lovely way to spend time with a child. Talk about the pictures, count the pieces and celebrate each finished puzzle. It helps with problem-solving, hand-eye coordination and patience, and it's screen-free fun the whole family can enjoy. Orchard Toys puzzles also make a brilliant gift for children's birthdays.

Orchard Toys puzzles are also built to last, with sturdy pieces designed to stand up to plenty of little hands. That makes them a great choice for nurseries, playgroups and grandparents' houses, as well as for home. And because Orchard Toys also makes a wide range of educational games, it's easy to find a matching game to go with a favourite puzzle.
